DIY The Party

Jenny creates a spooky Halloween party for today's #DIYTheParty

Halloween is a big deal in our house. Our preparations start at the beginning of October and last all month! I love looking for new ideas and have found some fun things to make with my children or when they’ve gone to bed!

Xion creates an awesome Super Mario themed party for #DIYTheParty

It's Nintendo's classic video game series, and whilst it's still nice to play solo, you can't beat the fun (and occasionally, frustration) that comes with playing competitively against friends.

Maladignia creates her dream Victorian steampunk inspired wedding for #DIYTheParty

A roleplay character of mine has been proposed to, so now we will need to plan and prepare a wedding. The setting we play in is Victorian/Steampunk setting so decorations, food and costumes need to be according to that 'theme'. My Muse is having a field day with all these lovely tutorials!

Amy from Amy Is The Party creates a festive backyard picnic soiree, perfect for summer for today's #DIYTheParty

One of my favorite parts of Summer is enjoying some time in our backyard, especially after the heat of the day has passed. We have a large backyard and I always thought it would be fun to have friends and family over for a picnic. I’m talking about spreading some picnic blankets on the lawn, enjoying a cool beverage, a good pasta or potato salad (or both!), and maybe some BBQ. You could even add some festive DIY touches like giant tasseled balloons, hand stamped napkins, and floral crowns for patrons.

Writing Monique creates her perfect summer party for today's #DIYTheParty

I’m absolutely obsessed with parties in general, but summer parties are something special to me. I love staying out late with candles all around, eating ice cream and drinking awesome cocktails! This style board has a few of my go-to summer party DIYs, and a few of my I-wanna-do-that-for-my-next-summer-party DIYs. That wigwam for example?! OH GOSH! Why didn’t I ever thought of that before?!

Laura recreates a retro British party, perfect for celebrating the Queen's birthday in #DIYTheParty

Let's party like it's 1943, the pinnacle of the make do and mend era! Since it's the queen's 90th birthday this year - and let's face it, since we all love a bit of vintage and upcycling! - I thought it'd be really fun to arrange a Keep Calm & Party fest with a hint of 'Best of British'! I've gathered together some of my favourite tutorials to craft everything you could possibly need, from retro fashion to classic British tea and scones. Most important, I think, is the gin and the bunting (I find it's VERY important to practice making the gin cocktails and gin trifles several times before the big day... just for quality purposes, of course - wouldn't want to disappoint our guests, now, would we??! ;) Just don't run out of gin before the party... Umm... Oops.)

Who doesn't like donut? Hardly anyone! These fried rings of dough are so delicious that deserve to become the inspiration of your next party. Moreover it's going to be the international donut day in June, another good reason to check out these 10 how-to-projects to be ready to celebrate in the best way.
