Use up all those loose buttons by making a vintage necklace

This is not only cheap to make, but uses up old buttons....and gives you an excuse to shop for new ones! It's really easy to make and is fabulous as a present for a vintage-loving person!

I hope you enjoy the project!

P.S: I used the linen sewing thread - just incase you're wondering... :)

P.P.S: The close-ups of the buttons are of my special 'vintage-looking' buttons!

Instructions

  1. 1

Measure and cut the thread/ribbon to the size you want it. You could have it really long or you could have it a medium length - like mine.

  2. 2

Thread on all your buttons, leaving an even space in between them. If you want you can tie a knot before and after each button to make sure it's extra secure but they do stay on the thread on their own.

Be sure to leave a couple of inches at the top so you can tie it.

  3. 3

Tie a knot or bow and - ta da a perfectly perfect vintage necklace!
