I made this one a while ago, and it still has it's original shape, although the wire I used was too weak.

Step 1There aren't many things to explain here, just follow this shape trying not to bend more than necessary the wire.
When you have this start making the spiral from the other side.

Step 2The good thing of this ring is that you can adjust it to your finger very easily, making the spiral shorter or longer.

well, I use regular ones, but I think the trick is knowing where exactly you have to bend. Try positioning the pliers in a fixed point and then shaping the wire around it with your fingers, if you shape the wire twisting the pliers you may apply to much strenght and that's why the scratches appear.
