A great craft to do in front of the tv!
based on http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/recycled-paper-wreath (which was based on http://livingwithlindsay.com/2009/11/librarians-please-avert-your-eyes.html) but I was asked to do a how-to hence not being labelled a version.

My base circle was about 19cm as that's what I had handy and the finished project ended up being about 35cm. I have a hole in the middle but I filled in most of it, up to you if you want a clearly visible middle or not. Or, don't cut a middle (as I'm trying on #2).

Also, I sprayed the end product with silver spray paint and glitter but that's optional. I wonder what fake snow would look like?

I used about 62 pages of a Nora Roberts romance-mystery-whatever book (exciting read...). I had all the supplies handy but they would not be expensive to buy. You could also use a phone book instead of a novel. I used corrugated cardboard, unsure if a pop box would be thick enough...

Step 1
Bend and glue, WITHOUT creasing or flattening, into an S-shape. The more bends make a smaller width but adds more poof height.

You could also make cone shapes, gluing the thinner end.
Step 2
Glue one of the edges near the edge of the cardboard. Circle around the edge and then work your way inwards, alternating between previous pages. Try to glue on the cardboard more than the previous pages to make it sturdier.

Don't worry about any holes. At the end, glue more pages into s-shapes then glue the very ends and gently stick them in the hole. Try to get them as near the bottom as possible. This will create longer, asymmetrical pieces so if you don't want them quite as long to stick out trim about 1cm off before you glue them down.
Step 3
If you have a center hole, simply bend the ends, glue the inside of the paper and stick and gently crease and arrange in the hole.

Step 4
Glue on a piece of ribbon on the back to hang by.

Spray or decorate as desired.
