These Macrame feathers look complicated, but are a cinch to make. And they are super pretty! If you love that boho look in your homes, you will love making and displaying these macrame feathers.

  • How to tie a knot. Macrame Feathers - Step 1
    Step 1

    Start by cutting the following pieces of cord :

    Large Feather – 1 – 24″ inch piece, 10 – 12″ inch pieces, 10 – 10″ pieces, 10 – 8″ pieces (31 total cords)

    Smallish Feathers – 1- 12″ inch piece, 6 – 6″ inch pieces, 4 – 4″ pieces, 4 – 3″ pieces (15 total cords)

  • How to tie a knot. Macrame Feathers - Step 2
    Step 2

    Take your longest cord and fold it in half. This is your feather's spine.
    Now take two of the second longest cords and place them underneath your spine. Loop one of the cords loops through the other cords loops and pull the ends through. See steps 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 at right. Repeat these steps with all the other cords (going from longest to shortest)

    Using your wire brush, brush out your macrame cords. Hold the spine at the same time so you don't loosen any of the knots!
