Made from old packaging!
I really like these heath and heather teas, they taste so good! The boxes are so pretty with floral designs, butterflies and bees. They were far too pretty to throw straight in the recycling, so I saved them for this quick and easy project.

I was going to send this to a friend as a present, but it looked so nice on the wall, that I couldn't part with it! However, this would be great to send in the post as it's small and light. It would also look nice wrapped round a present. You could also use the hearts by themselves for other projects, such as card making.

Make a little heart template (or whatever shape you desire) out of scrap card. I had this one left over from another project. Draw round it on the back of your card. I got between 5 and 8 hearts out of each of my boxes (as I was trying to use the pattern only and avoid any text).

Set up your sewing machine ready for sewing. Pull out a length of the thread (from both the top and bottom) as this is your 'tail' that you will use to hang or tie your garland.

Sew across the top (or middle if you prefer) of each heart, leaving a small amount of thread between each one. Try to keep the threads taut when you are stitching, as this makes it neater. However, if you use a thread colour similar to your wall colour (like I did) then any loops won't be that noticeable.

When you have done them all, pull another length of thread for the other tail.

And you're done! Hang it up and enjoy!
