A great way to keep all of your crafts or brushes organized and portable!

This is pretty simple to make, and there are tons of ways you can change and personalize it for yourself! You can also make one for markers, crayons, or pretty much anything, the sky's the limit!

Instructions

  1. Step 1 1

Pick out your favorite fabric and cut a piece roughly 40 inches by 30 inches. Make this piece larger or smaller depending on the size of the things you want to put in it.

  2. Step 2 2

    Fold it in half.

  3. Step 3 3

Take the folded edge and fold it again about 4 1/2 inches, to make another fold. Grab some of the crafts or brushes you want to put in it, and measure to make sure that the 4 1/2 inch pocket is long enough to hold them.

  4. Step 4 4

Then pin along the fold, making sure to only go through the first three layers, and not the last one.

  5. Step 5 5

Sew straight lines along the folded part down to the bottom of the three layers, without sewing the back layer. Make sure to leave spaces on both sides to fold and sew later. Sew lines of different widths to be able to hold different sized things.

  6. Step 6 6

(Optional) If you want to add pockets for smaller craft items make your lines wider apart to give it more room for pockets.

  7. Step 7 7

Finish sewing lines all the way across. (Optional) Cut squares big enough to fit each pocket and sew them with the right sides together like so to make flaps.

  8. Step 8 8

(optional) turn the flaps inside out and sew them on the top of the pockets.

  9. Step 9 9

(Optional) If you want to add velcro you can do so, this ensures that the pocket will stay closed.

  10. Step 10 10

Now, fold it in half again, matching the front and back layers, then start with one side and fold in about 1/2 inch, twice, and pin. And sew the side.
Do the same to the other side.

  11. Step 11 11

Now that both sides are sewn, do the same to the top and sew.
It should now look like this.

  12. Step 12 12

Time to make the ties that will keep your roll together.
Cut two pieces of fabric about 4' by 14'.
Fold in half with the right sides together, then sew making about a 2' tie. Do this to both pieces, and cut off excess fabric.
Now, turn each right side out.

  13. Step 13 13

Attach one tie to the front of roll, on either the right or left side.

  14. Step 14 14

Then flip the whole thing over and sew the other tie to match up exactly with the tie on the front.

  15. Step 15 15

Ta-dah! You are now finished. All you need to do is fill it with goodies, pull down the flap, roll and tie! It is now ready to go anywhere with you!
