You Will Need

Step 1Select a piece of bark (I used cedar)

Step 2
Apply a dense coat of mod podge to the outer portion of the bark
Allow to dry -
Step 3Cut out your heart. (The mod podge will help make this a easier process)

Step 4Apply mod podge to the inner portion of the bark heart. This will ensure the little wood fragments to not move
Allow to dry -
Step 5Take a pin back and apply hot glue
Apply to the outer portion of heart and hold

how thick should the wood be?

I would say somewhere between 1/8 and a 1/4 of an inch, but not too think as the bark tends to crack easier. Hope it helps!
