Is it possible to thicken up the batter with more flour and bake them in an oven? I do it with zucchini and squid because my stomach doesn't react very well to frying because of all the oil Happy

These things are freakin' delicious. I crave them all the time. I first tried them in Alabama and was a little unsure of how they would taste but they are AMAZING! I've been looking for a recipe, but I need to buy pickles :O

Reading this is making my mouth water! I eat them at Toot's in my hometown, when I get the chance...but it's been a while.

I made these last week, and they were amazing. A tip i would say is that after you put the leftovers in the fridge (if there are any!), whenever you take them out put them in the over for a reheat. Microwaving them would be kinda violent, and they wont taste as good. :]

I ordered these once at a rib cookoff with my family. Every family member tasted, said they were really really salty, and then came back for more. They were addicting. I can't wait to try these at home. Thanks for the recipe.

Update: So my boyfriend and I made these last night then curled up and had a beer, they were AMAZING!!!! Only thing I would say is make sure to leave them in long enough so they get crispy, they tasted better that way! Yum!
