the shirt was a little smaller than my size, because it was an old one. but i guess it would be better if it's your size or a little bigger...

Try these and maybe that'll help.
I had to make wide waistbands for both of mine, too. But I also think that adds to the flava! LOL I have a tut for how I did mine on my myspace blog. myspace/pumpkinniki I don't think it was archived, yet, but if it is and you want to see it, let me know and I'll find it for you.
Thanks for the compliments!
The way I find out if the shirt is big enough is by holding it flat, pinching the armpit seams on the sides, hold the shirt with the middle on my hip, and wrap it around my leg. If the armpit spots I've pinched don't touch at the crotch with enough room for seams and comfort, then it is too small.
Hope that helps! If not let me know and I can take pictures of how I did it.
PS: While doing this you will see where the pictures will end up so you'll know how it will look in the end.
But I had to react at your comment...becouse it isn't nice to say that about a how to of someone it was like the worst comment I got on it...
go do something else then wasting your time with putting stupid comments on projects... -_-
I´d love to see yours when you decide to make one too :3
As for uploading your own version have a go, I made a lot of mistakes at first, but you get the option to delete. Let me know how you get on, have fun *_*
