Polymer Clay went hard

I had an unopened packet of polymer clay but when I opened it, it was already hard. Is there a way to soften it up again?

Either I'd knead them as much as I could stand, or I'd do this:

I'm not sure if that would help in this situation though. I guess it's worth a try?

That's really helpful Roma, I'll try that later when I've got some baby oil. My packet was unopened and in an air-tight plastic container, so I thought it would be fine Happy

how old was it? because i hav some Really old clay that did the same thing

This is kind of unrelated but related at the same time, we've got clay under our soil and I well wanna dig some up!

ok I can't edit that post for some reason. I'm gonna dig some up tomorrow and make something outside and then leave it to dry out, do you think there will be bugs burrying inside the clay! :S
