I've tried to find out how to acid wash before, and not much comes up. The suggestions there say to use bleach, but I think there's some ultra-complicated method with hardcore chemicals that gives a more authentic 80's look. If you try the method w/ the toothbrush, be careful with vinegar and bleach together. they don't mix well, and can make toxic vapors, but diluted vinegar with just the bleach spots on the jeans should be fine. Also, if you can bleach the skirt how you want it, rinse it off with water, and then hydrogen peroxide because that neutralizes the bleach and keeps it from eating through stuff.

You might be better off getting some jeans at a thrift store and sewing them into a skirt... it's a pretty easy recon. I kind of want to do that now. Happy The 80's rock, even though i'm only old even to remember the last few years. Happy

Haha... I'm only 23. I meant to type "only old enough to remember the last few years."

Might try the toothbrush thing myself now, but totally let me know if you end up trying it.
