jelly bracelets?

I was just given a whole box of jelly bracelets which were really big a few years ago and i'm wondering what i could make with them; since i'm bored of wearing them on my wrists.

I sound like such an idiot by not knowing anything, but what are jelly bracelets again? I should really know these things.

I think they are those single rubber bracelets that you would buy in packs of loads with different colours. We used to call them shag bands lol (this was in 96 when I was 16)

Oh yeah. Why did we call them shag bands?

Is that too naive a question?

Well where I came from, if a boy broke your bracelet it meant he wanted to shag you lol or different colours meant a kiss etc I remember it was when I went to Butlins in Wales with my cousin and these Liverpool girls told me all about it and I brought it back to my mates in Dublin haha we were very lame

What you could make with them...I have no idea. You could maybe twist lots of them together to make a flower and use it as a brooch?!

Yeah I remember my sister telling my grandad that if you broke one it meant you had to shag somebody.

I don't think she knew what shag meant. We were both very young. I remember my Grandad going "Oofph, you better not break it then."

heavens

oh and on the crafting front, you could perhaps fuse them together by putting a few of them in a pretty pattern in between two greaseproof paper sheets and ironing them.

Thanks for all the input i'll try to make some thins and post them. One more idea, on another craft site one person took plastic kids barrettes cut of the decoration and attatched it to the bracelet with a jump ring, should i try this?
