hurry up and wait!

If I didnt have to leave the house~I wouldnt! but due to a head injury...3 times a week I must adventure out and get stuck in the idiot circus on my way there.
SO~Id like to thank all the drivers in my area who are in such a hurry but yet so distracted, texting, putting on makeup, reading books and what not that they forget they are driving. I almost got rear-ended at the drive up coffee stand yesterday and run off the road by an old guy texting in his huge truck today! arent we supposed to do these things BEFORE we leave the house, not as we are driving? they made talking on cell phones illegal except in an emergency cituation in our state but that only lasted a few weeks..and everyone is back on their phones. WTF come on already. I just want to get where im going and get home! I cannot wait until this treatment is over and wouldnt you know it has to be this time of year, when everything gets crazy for the holidays.

Sounds like a death wish to leave your house. I can't understand why people like that don't get how dangerous those things can be.

Putting on make-up SHOULD be done at home, if you can't get it done in time to leave home then don't bother. Or take your make-up case with your but do it when you are parked or reach your destination.

Phone calls can wait, there isn't really many emergencies great enough for you to put yours and/or someone's life in danger by distraction. In order to answer to that emergency you could be causing one yourself by creating an accident, potentially fatal!!

I haven't passed my test but if I'm out practising driving or when my mum is driving we would ignore our phones till we are in a safe position to answer them.

Well taking a phone call might not be illegal where you are now, but some of the other stuff probably is, the only thing you can do is clock their registration number and report it. Other then that there's not much you could do I'm afraid till someone gets themselves into an accident!! Stupid... I know.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I for one was far too scared to get my drivers license because I was scared of the other people on the road! I did get it in the end though but I would never do anything BUT keep my eye on the road. I live in a city where everyone drives through red lights. When I say everyone I mean mainly bus drivers and taxi drivers. Those kind of people are suppose to be setting an example, are they not? Unfortunately though people don't give a toss now and know that they will probably get away with it because our justice system is so messed up!!!

There, that was me letting my steam out for the day Happy

@Lolly.bot ~ That's the problem with our government... They don't do anything about it until someone is seriously hurt or has died because of it... Happy

I just feel sorry for the innocent people that get hurt or killed by the negligence of the people in question Happy

cell phone use is allowed where i live and it realy shouldnt be. no kidding everyday in my city atleast 5 people are on the news or the paper being killed by using the damn cell phone. my husband and I almost got killed by mother time who decided to talk on her cell phone AND switch lanes cutting us off, and running a red light into heavy traffic. 0.0

iggnorace is bliss they say!

OMFG! running red lights, huge here..even with the cameras that take a picture of you.
there are all kinds of laws...whether ppl use them or not is a different story. When i was younger I loved to drive, take road trips and what not. not so much anymore
Ruby~ do you live in seattle..LOL! cabbies, buses and even the mail folk will run you over and cut you off in Seattle!

I'm 26 and I still don't drive. I have severe panic attacks just sitting behind the wheel. I've even passed out in the passenger seat because we nearly crashed.I refuse to drive. Ever. Too many morons on the road, it's scary enough being a pedestrian and nearly getting hit on a daily basis.

Oddbreed I've had my license for a month now and still haven't been brave enough to cross the I-90 bridge and drive in Seattle.I can't believe they have only just made texting while driving illegal here. It's been that way in the UK for at least 4 yrs.
Keep safe

I bought a new car and only drove it for a couple of weeks and gave it to my granddaughter, who just the other day blew the motor up.She was was on of those crazy drivers. And serves her right she dont have a car now.

Ugh.. I can't even stand to be a passenger in city traffic let alone drive in it! We went to Chicago years ago to the Field Museum and I almost wanted to turn around and go back home. It's a two/three hour drive there from our house!

WOW! I didnt realize so many of you feel the way I do, I cringe at the thought of having to get into a car...I can come up with any excuse not to go! I thought about walking to the post office today but thats just about as dangerous on our country roads.
I usually have to endure rush hour traffic only once a year for a doc appt. My hub drives so we can use the carpool lane..funny thing is we get there so much faster because not a dang soul really uses that lane!

I'm 29 and I've never had my DL, and my learners is expired... I just can't do it, I get way to nervous (it got a lot worse after I had kids) and plus having to worry about everyone else's driving?! NO thank you. It's hard though, to be so dependent on my husband and mom to get places... I wish I could live within walking distance of all my favorite places, but that is a daydream I often have... The saddest part of it for me is I grew up in a family that drove everywhere, we were always moving for my dads work and I really enjoy road trips and riding in a car and going to the city and new places, but now I just sit in my house and wait for sunday (grocery store day) and let me tell you, after so many years... even Wal-mart(sadly, the closest and only really the only store near me) has lost its shine for me Happy
