Help with sewing machine

It's a brand spankin' new sewing machine from Singer. It was my birthday present and I was so glad that I no longer had to sew anything by hand again!
Anyway, I was making a Dorothy costume for my little sister when the fabric became jammed into the sewing machine. I didn't know how to take it out.... So I had to remove the screws inside where the bobbin or whatever catches the needle. And I put it all back together (I thought correctly) but now the thread doesn't catch the needle anymore..

I have no idea what to do! I have costumes that I have to finish for people! Please help! Any advice, ideas, comments would really be appreciated!

make sure that you pull that little latch on the bobbin case when you put it in so that it locks in place
congrats on the new machin btw

if its still new, and you have your recipet take it back and exchange it, and tell them that there is a malfunction with this machine. Or call the manufacture's hotline for help. good luck
