Adjustments to Dress: Help Needed

I have a dress that fits fine apart from across the boobage area because it has this bit that isn't very elasticated! Well it's not at all! So what I'm asking is how would I be able to alter it without it being too complicated?

one side has a zip, should i cut down the seam on the other side and then sew a patch of that elastic stuff in so that it just streches a bit? so I can breath!?

If you take a photo of the dress, or show us a photo of a similar dress I might be able to give you a better idea of what to do. It all depends on how the dress is made

it's a bit like the tshirt dress on the project bit but the waist band thing is thinner and around the boobage.

Making things bigger is a bit difficult Sad

I might put a strip of contrasting or complementary colour in I guess. but it could all fall apart and go wrong, it depends how much you like the dress!

You could always take it to a seamstress. I found a really cheap nearby seamstress who altered two dresses for me for £40 which is really good.
