Description

Fascinators are a fashionable way to crown an outfit. They are easy and fast to make and they require little material. Perfect to make from satin and lace ribbons, fabric scraps, small toys, plastic flowers and so on. Make different styles, colors and sizes to suit any outfit you might wear! Suitable also for short haired girls :)

Instructions
  1. 1
    Step 1

Start your project with gathering different colored ribbons, fabric scraps, small toys (they must be light weight), plastic flowers.. anything. Try different compositions.

  2. 2
    Step 2

After your design is ready, take the craft felt and draw a circle by using a small plate, mug or cup. My fascinator bace was 10cm diameter (4 inhces).

  3. 3
    Step 3

    Cut two felt circles.

  4. 4
    Step 4

Sew the ribbons to a loop. Sew a gethering thread on to the edge of your ribbons and gather them. Sew the "ribbon donuts" on to the felt base.

  5. 5
    Step 5

Roll up the zipper roses. Use one side of the zipper for one rose. My fascinator fitted three zipper roses.

  6. 6
    Step 6

Sew the zipper roses together by hand.

  7. 7
    Step 7

This is what you should have now.

  8. 8
    Step 8

Pin the roses on to one felt base cicle.

  9. 9
    Step 9

Sew the zipper roses on to the felt base.

  10. 10
    Step 10

Draw a circle (1cm or 1/4 inches smaller diameter than the felt circles) and cut it out. I used the cardboard from a frozen foods box.

  11. 11
    Step 11

Sew the felt circled together by hand. Sew only half a circle.

  12. 12
    Step 12

pin the elastic band on to the base and try the fascinator on. Adjust the length if needed. Sew the band on to the felt base firmly.

  13. 13
    Step 13

Put the cardboard cirle between the felt pieces and sew the rest of the felt edges together.

  14. 14
    Step 14

If you want a veil to your fascinator, you can add some soft tull, organza, shiffon or lace to the front edge. Sew by hand.

  15. 15
    Step 15

    Your fascinator s finished!

You have such pretty light colored hair, that at first glance all I saw was this silver coil coming out of your head. I was like, Robot brains??? So I clicked on your pic. and actually looked at what I was seeing and was very surprised. This is really pretty. You have such a pretty, feminine little doll face. You look gorgeous in this! *jealousy*
