  • Step 1

    Hat Pattern

ch 5, slip stitch (ss) to form ring, ch 2, 10 dc in ring, join in the top of the first dc (round 1)
(don't turn, just keep working to make your work have a right and a wrong side)

ch2, 2 dc in each stitch around, join in top of first dc

ch2, 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next dc, (2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc) repeat () join into top of 1st dc

ch 2, 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next of 2 dc, (2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next of 2 dc) repeat () around, join in top of 1st dc

ch 2, 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next of 3 dc, (2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next of 3 dc) repeat () around, join in top of 1st dc

ch 2, 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next of 4 dc, (2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next of 4 dc) repeat () around, join in top of 1st dc

ch 2, 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next of 4 dc, (2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next of 4 dc) repeat () around, join in top of 1st dc

ch 2, 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next of 5 dc, (2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next of 5 dc) repeat () around, join in top of 1st dc

    Begin decreasing,

ch 2, 1 dc in next 6 stitches, 1 decrease, 1 dc in next 6 stitches, 1 decrease, repeat around join in top of 1st double crochet

now you are just working with out increases or decreases, so.....ch2 dc in every stitch around and join in top of 1st dc.

Repeat last rows until hat has 16 rows in all....from top to bottom

  • Step 2

    motif

ch 5, join with ss to form ring, ch 3, yarn over 2x (tripple crochet in US term i think) insert hook into ring, YO pull up a loop, YO pull up a loop through 2 loops on hook, YO pull up a loop through 2 loops on hook, YO pull up a loop through remaining loops on hook...1 tripple crochet made

Make 11 more tc into ring and join into top of first tc. ch 1 (don't turn) 2 sc in each stitch around, bind off..

Now you can add what ever decorations on the motif you want, buttons, sequins, beads..etc..

    Enjoy!!
