  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    First get an old cheap plastic food container. The recycle symbol should be on the bottom.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

    Cut out the center.


  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Using markers draw a picture on the plastic. Try to avoid letting your hand touch the wet image.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

    Cut out the image.


  5. Step 5

    Step 5

    Place in a pre-heated oven at 250 degrees fahrenheit. The plastic will curl and move in the over. ****WAIT until it flattens out to remove from the oven***

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

    Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.

That's very funny, I found the same tutorial a few days ago. I wanted to try it, but I haven't found the right type of plastic yet. (No. 6 is needed) But I'm so happy to see that it really works!:)

you can, I didn't. I used a drill to cut the hole cause I have a drill but no holepunch so whatever works for you.

Both will work. 350 will do it faster. I did it lower cause I find it works just as well and it is summer here [as you know Reena:-)] So I guess I was trying to keep cool.

GUYS!no.6 plastic is needed,And thatr has been stated..
If you cant find any,I'm happy to say stawberry containers are the right kind o' plastic.Another reason to get that dilicous(Sp,Doh'!)Fruit,eh?

Many of us did it in the 80's and we turned out pretty ok...
I just don't cook and bake the plastic at the same time.

did you have to seal this? the times i've done shrinky dinks and colored them with sharpies, the color wanted to rub off even after putting it in the oven. i usually use colored pencils but still have a bit of sealer on it.

make sure it's number 6 plastic thou...should say it on the plastic container.

i have been colllecting #6 now that i FINALLY found what it is! for me & my daughter to do the homemade shrinky dinks thing but your using what # recycle plastic #? #5? what other #'s can use besides #6 ? thank u :)

no it will not damage the pan. But if you are worried it might you can put foil down on the sheet.
