Recipe

  1. Step 1 1

    Supplies:
Any flovor cake mix {and ingredients listed on box} we used birthday cake.
    1/2 package of corasponding frosting
    we used birthday cake frosting
White Chocolate Candy Melts can be any brand
    Candy sticks -Wal-mart is easy
    Styrofoam
    Gel Food Coloring {NOT liquid}
    Shortening

  2. 2

Step 1 - grease you cake pan and cook your cake acording to directions on the box. That easy! Sorry we didn't get a picture here.

  3. 3

Step 2 - put you cake after cooling into a big bowl crumbles and all! Rember to cool this will be finger time and we don't need crispy digits!

  4. 4

Step 3 - Crumble the cake all up in the bowl. Add half of your pack of frosting to the bowl, just pour it in. Then stick fingers in the left over half and taste..ohh so good frosting!!

  5. Step 5 5

Step 4 - Put hands in bowl and squish, knead, roll and repeat! Did you ever notice they never tell you how many times to repeat, I think "They" don't really know how many times. Repeat as many as you need to get it to look like a dough ball. At this time some people like to make shapes.

  6. Step 6 6

Step 5 - If the kids havent jumped in yet now is a good time. Roll big cake ball into smaler cake balls about 1 inch in size and spread on an cookie sheet.

  7. Step 7 7

Step 6 - Pour chocolate melts into a large bowl and melt as directed on package. Make sure the choclate is smooth, once smooth add a large spoonfull of crisco will help to thin the consitancy a bit.Stir thourghly

  8. Step 8 8

Step 6 - Dip a cookie stick into chocolate and then into a cake ball, this will help to secure the cake to the stick like a yummy glue......I never eat glue in kindergarden, did not, you didn't see me, can't prove anything!

  9. Step 9 9

Step 7 - dip your cake ball into the chocolate and invert on to strofoam ring as a holder. We ran into problem getting the whole thing covered in chocolate at time, so a good spoon or another stick can help with this.

  10. Step 10 10

Step 8 - Garnish while chocolate is still soft. any garnish will do extra colored chocolate, put into a ziplock baggie with a corner cut off makes a quick piping bag, shaved Hershy bars, cookie crumbles, or sprinkles. Cool and wait for it, wait for it
..." Let them eat cake!" ...
haha cheesey yes, but you knew it was coming. They had so much fun with these and then their girls came over and helped them finish them off! And this is just the start if you can master this easy one you will be a professioal in no time, your sister will be all " I need some for my babies birthday party, huh huh you know the drill just say.."I got this"
