This tutorial will teach how to fit the waist of a loose fitting shirt.

    Step 1

    Take a loose shirt which you need to fit at the waist. Measure across the back side along the waist.This measurement is x cm.
    Cut a strip of elastic which is 0.5 cm wide and x cm long.
    The picture shows how it will look after the completion.

  • Step 2

    Get your sewing machine ready to sew. With normal tension settings. Now mark the point on the back of the shirt.Draw two lines 1 inch above and below this point with a tailors chalk.

    Now place the back of the shirt under the machine needle and place the elastic on the wrong side of the shirt and start sewing. Slightly pull the elastic as you sew.

    Repeat for the second line.Mae sure you back stitch along the ends.
    Lo the shirt is now well fitted and cool to look.
