I use freezer paper for my stencils, I think I want to try contact paper eventually. These were spray painted with indoor outdoor paint.
I plan to re-do the one with the Companion Cube and the the Aperture logo on it. It could be much better.

Yes, I've washed them about 5 times so far. Someone replied about these over on crafster.org and said they do the same thing, and have shirts that are about 5 years old and never faded or washed out.
