  • Step 1

FIrst you need to gather all your materials. You will need craft/popsicle sticks, a sheet of wax paper, and glue (elmer's glue or tacky glue will work).

    Step 2

Now lay your wax paper down on the table. You will work on the paper since it is easier to peel the holder off once the glue is done drying. Now lay out 11 of the sticks and glue them together. Just like in the picture.

Next you want to glue six of them together the same way as the 11.

Do the same for 2 more of the sticks.

The 11 will be the back, 6 the front, and the 2 will be the bottom.

Now you want to make 2 stacks of 8 and glue them together.

    Step 6

Take the 11 you glued together and lay both stacks of 8 on either side and glue together. (Tip: I found that binder clips help hold down the sticks so the glue down better.)

    Step 7

Those 2 sticks you glued together, go ahead and glue them to the ends of the 2 stacks of 8. Now you will have something that looks almost like a box.

    Step 8

Now take the panel of 6 sticks and glue them down on top of the 2 stacks of 8. This will create a pocket.

    Step 9

Once it dries you now have a holder. Decorate the holder however you want. I just added some foam dragon flies and flowers on mine. But you can paint yours or color it with markers.

    Step 10

You can now add either wire or 2 more popsicle sticks to the back to make a hanger and hang it on the wall. Now you can add your index cards with your recipes on them.

That is also a good idea. I love to cook so I used mine as a recipe holder. I am glad you liked it. I hope you make it and use it for many things.

This could also be used as a note pad holder by the phone. Thanks for the how-to.
