A little necklace to get over the drought
So this necklace was actually inspired by a company called passionflower that makes lots of jewelry out of shrink plastic. Once I get my hands on some shrink plastic, I will definitely show you guys how to make the jewelry from their line (because I love how they look, just not the price). You guys can totally just find the company yourself though, they have lots of pretty jewelry that everybody should check out. Anyways, this one was totally doable without shrink plastic so here's the how to!

You Will Need
-
Step 1
Materials:
-flat sheet of plastic (I got mine from a box of blueberries)
-modge podge
-white paper
-lots of silver chain (I actually bought a necklace from the dollar store that had loads of chain and just took it apart)
-tiny hole puncher or needle will work too

Step 2
Decide what shape you want your cloud, then draw it onto the backside of a sticky note. That's right, the back side, with the sticky stuff on it (but don't draw on the sticky stuff, that doesn't usually work...)

Step 3
Stick the sticky note onto your plastic so that you can see the outline of your cloud through the plastic. Cut it out, cutting through the post-it and the plastic. You should have a see through cloud now!
It just occurred to me that you could probably cut out your white cloud at the same time as you cut out the plastic one if you just taped on a white piece of paper to the plastic with your cloud outline, but I didn't do that so next step!

Step 4
Trace around your plastic cloud onto a white piece of paper and cut out the cloud so that it's the same size and shape.

Step 5
Spread a thin layer of modge podge all around your white cloud and stick it into the plastic. Your supposed to push out the bubbles or something like that but since this is my first time working with modge podge, I didn't really know what I was doing. So, any bubbles in there just add texture to your cloud!
Wait a while for the modge podge to dry, like start another art project!

Step 6
Once your cloud is stuck together, paint the top with modge podge to seal it. I made it a point for the modge podge to be all swirly to try and add some subtle texture to my cloud. You can try and make it flat and smooth and glossy but my work tends to be...imperfect, so mine as well use that to my advantage!

Step 7
After the top layer of modge podge has dried, take your needle or tiny hole punch and punch around 10 holes near the bottom of your cloud, I had nine holes, however many makes your cloud look like it's raining.

Step 8
Using jump rings and short pieces of chain, just attach them to each hole. I tried to make it a point for the pieces of chain to be different lengths and it sort of worked. It'd look more like a curtain if you kept them all the same length!

Step 9
Punch to more holes on the top left and right and attach the actual chain so that you can hang it around your neck.

TA DA New necklace!!! Prepare to be "showered" with compliments. lol
