• 

  Step 1

  Hold two pom pom makers together. Begin by wrapping the right hand side of your pom pom maker with 10 strands of red yarn in the position shown. This will be the mouth.

• 

  Step 2

  Begin wrapping over the red yarn with cream yarn.

• 

  Step 3

  Keep wrapping the cream yarn until the pom pom maker is about half full.

• 

  Step 4

  Wrap some brown yarn to the left of the middle around 10 times.

• 

  Step 5

  Continue wrapping over the brown with cream yarn until the pompom maker is full.

• 

  Step 6

  Fill the other half of the pompom maker completely with brown yarn.

• 

  Step 7

  Close the pompom maker.

• 

  Step 8

  Carefully cut around the outer edge of the pompom.

• 

  Step 9

  Keep going until it's all cut.

• 

  Step 10

  Tie a length of cream yarn tightly around the middle of the pompom.

• 

  Step 11

  Remove your pompom from the pompom maker.

• 

  Step 12

  Trim the loose off the yarn loop around the middle.

• 

  Step 13

  Give your pom pom a good trim until it begins to look like Princess Leia. You will have to cut off quite a bit.

• 

  Step 14

  Keep cutting until you're happy with it. You will have to cut off quite a bit.

• 

  Step 15

  Cut a length of brown yarn and drape it through the middle of a small fork.

• 

  Step 16

  Wrap lots of brown yarn around the fork.

• 

  Step 17

  Tie the first strand into a knot around the centre of the fork.

• 

  Step 18

  Cut the yarn at the edges of the fork to release the pom pom.

• 

  Step 19

  Make two and then trim both pompoms down to the desired size, leaving the first string long.

• 

  Step 20

  Thread the long strand onto a yarn needle.

• 

  Step 21

  Thread through the middle of your big pompom, adding a small pompom at either side of the head.

• 

  Step 22

  Cut 9 lengths of brown yarn measuring the length of your arm. Bunch into groups of three and knot together at the top.

• 

  Step 23

  Braid together the three groups of yarn into a long braid and knot at both ends.

• 

  Step 24

  Tie around each side pom pom, going across the front of the head and you're done!
