An elegant way of re-cycling your old paper backs

Right, having found a good sized paper back book, count two sets of 30 pages (do not go buy the page numbers! count the actually pages)
Cut down the spine with a sharp craft knife, i generally do this from the inside of the book. make sure you keep all the leaves attached to the wax..if a couple are lost not to worry but try not to.
To make a fully rounded tree you will need two sets of 30 pages that will later be stuck together, or leave them as halves (good for sitting on narrow shelves or flat against a wall. -
Take the top right hand corner of the first page and bring it down to meet the spine (usually around the middle of the left hand side)
Then fold into the centre again
There will be a tiny amount at the bottom sticking out which you just need to fold up back in line with the rest of the pages....
Just keep on going untill they are all done!
I find holding the done pages under the heel of my left hand helps, but im sure you'll find you method, its pretty simple. -
Right! When you have all of your page folded on both sets of 60 pages its time to glue!!
Just cover the exposed back pages with the glue (with pretty strong stuff, pritt stick is ok but may not give your tree a long lifespan!!) and stick.
The paper clips are to hold it together near the spine at the base...as this is a pretty weak point, maybe needed at the point too.
Leave for a few hours to let the glue set.
Then decorate as you please...Enjoy!
