Based on Myam's technique for her Dress Form project.
Well, I like that motto that says: "You'd better beware of the live rather than from the death...", so, I decided this year my Halloween costume is going to be a Jiggsaw one, and, believe it or not, I spent less than 6 usds, in this mask, and I already have the suit =D!!! This is the Cheapest Halloween costume I've ever made. Besides, it's made to fit you perfectly, it weights less than 250 grams!!! and it's 50% less hotter than plastic ones. Hope it's useful for everyone in need of a mask.

  • How to make a mask. Paper Tape Mask - Step 1
    Step 1

The fabric is mainly to prevent the paper tape get glued to your hair. Place the fabric over your head and mark your eyes, take the fabric off, cut the holes for you to see something on the tv while someone helps you to cover all your head in paper tape. (Believe me, you'll need to entertain the model if you expect cooperation =D, Myam, my boyfriend and I know that well...)

    Step 2

You need to make 4 covers of paper tape to the model, for you to ensure it gets firm enough. By now it only has a little Leather Face's aspect.

    Step 3

Once your base is ready, you can start creating your mask, for this case, the nose, the cheeks, and the jaw needed to be stuffed, my boyfriend helped me with some cotton, but nowadays we know it was a better idea to use foil, it gives you a stronger consistance. Well, once you have the amount of stuff you need, cover it with more paper tape.

    Step 4

At this point, we were satisfied with the stuff issue, so we started the eyes.

    Step 5

The eyebrows were made once again with cotton, and for the inner side of the eyes, my boyfriend did a long worm of toilet paper, covered it with masking tape and added to the mask with moooooooore paper tape.

    Step 6

My boyfriend made the painting (and I may say he almost stoled the project of me in an inspiration rush LOL!!). It was amazing when I came back home from a ladies night party and the mask was done =D!! He's awesome with this =D!!! Now I'm workin on the hair, this is going to be creepy, because I'm using natural hair (don't ask!!) But I wanted to share this idea before Halloween in case someone needed inspiration.

Wanna see my complete outfit??? TADA!!!!

  • How to make a mask. Paper Tape Mask - Step 8
    Step 8

My boyfriend liked so much this technique that he started a NASGUL (Lord of the Rings)mask for himself, but, as it is still in process, I owe you a better picture. But the important thing of this comment is, that we are still using the same paper tape roll that we used for the Jiggsaw mask.

    Step 9

And this is the result of my boyfriends mask, you may be a good judge, but, I cannot ignore my own point of view. IT'S FANTASTIC!!!! =D. He also did the weapon, with almost the same technique, he did the structure with foil and newspapers and wraped (and molded)it all with paper tape. The armor is done with other tecnique.
