cool shirt that you can personlize depending on your own style!
I would recommend some sort of cotton knit because it's easy to work with and it's important for the neck-part.

*This project is aimed more toward people who have basic sewing skills with a machine

Sorry for not having actual pictures because I made this shirt before I even made an account XD

You can definitely take this basic form I've given you and add embellishments! You can use different fabrics, colors, etc! :D have fun being creative with this simple project! Good Luck!

  • How to make a turtleneck top. Neat Shirt - Step 1
    Step 1

    in scale to your size, trace these patterns into your fabric, and cut them out (leaving a seam-allowance)

    *a tank top pattern helps for pieces 1 & 2!*

    1) back piece

    2) front chest piece

    3) front bottom half

    4) neck piece (12 inches wide; the length equals the length of the tank top's neckline)

    take piece 3 and pleat/gather the top side

    sew it to piece 2

    (typo on the diagram!)

    assemble new front piece (2&3) to back piece (1) like a regular tank top, leaving the neck and arm holes open

    take piece 4 (the neck) and fold it in half hotdog-style

    then fold it hamburger-style and sew the open end to make a fat, floppy, ring

    *** this piece is now the collar of your shirt

    sew the collar to the neck of the shirt; MAKE SURE the open end of the ring is getting sewed to the shirt and not the folded end
