Gather materials and thread your needle.

Wrap hair elastic around your finger to make sure it fits.

Sew elastic hair tie together to form a ring as shown.

Now sew the poly bow tie to the elastic ring.

Once the bow is secure, tie a knot with your needle and thread and cut off any remaining thread.
