To Claire: I did drill holes along the bottom edge of the piece!

To FancyKid: A tip for the drilling, I did put a little piece of wood underneath the record to make it smoother and you do have to go slowly so that it does not break. I broke mine a couple of times as well.

Hope this helps, guys!

i got a bit sidetracked making this, but i'm back on track!! Did you drill holes all around the edge of the bottom piece? couldn't see it on photo, but i presume to get the sides to stay put they'll need some there too.

Sure! I drilled 2 holes in one side of the record so that I could stitch a leather strip to the record. Then, I stitched one side of a snap to the opposite end of the leather. Then I drilled 2 holes to stitch the opposite end of that snap to the purse so that I could connect the 2 ends of the snap! Hope that helps! Happy

When you drilled the holes, didn't the record try to break?

well, I'm inspired! great work! I think when I make mine, to solve the "sturdy" problem, I am gonna glue the albums onto some cardboard first. Nobody is gonna see the inside of the records anyways because of the lining. Now all I need is to get my hands on a drill....

I can't wait to have a go at this. Mind you, last time I got creative and cut a record up, I discovered it was a rarity! Oops! There goes my fortune!

Guys you are so sweet! Happy

To Tessel D.: I am pretty clumsy too! The record purse is holding up pretty well, I have taken it to a party and a concert so far and it has not snapped. I think it is more flexible than I made it sound in the tutorial. Happy

To Savalou: I will update the step with your question too, I should have been more thorough! I stitched the t shirt through the holes that I had already drilled into the record. I had contemplated gluing the t-shirt to the record but I wanted something really sturdy.

I want to make one! Only I'm scared it'll break too easily, since I'm kinda clumsy Tongue Is there antything I can do to make it firmer?

Great tutorial, I've been wanting to do this for ages! But I'm a little bit confused... where do you stitch the sides of the bag (the t-shirt bit) to, through the holes you drilled or just straight through the record?
