How to dye yarn with Kool-Aid.

Step 1
Make sure you are using a natural fiber yarn, wool works best. You can leave it in a hank, or you can wind it into a ball on a ball winder to make a gradient skein.

Step 2Use heat resistant glass jars, add at least 2 packets of Kool Aid to each one in the color you desire, then add boiling water.

Step 3For a gradient skein, pull the center out of the ball a few times and keep connected, place each section in each jar of Kool-Aid. Be careful, it's hot!

Step 4When the water is mostly clear and the yarn has absorbed the color, remove from the jars, squeeze out and let dry.

Step 5Rewind your ball when dry and knit!
