    Step 1

Find a nice basic Hello Kitty head image online and open it up in Word, or any image editing program. Resize the Hello Kitty image so that the face details fit the size of your lantern.

Gently open up your paper lantern and insert the metal support. Be careful when inserting the support. Shoving it in too quick could bend the metal, or rip your lantern.

Thanks so much for all your kind comments everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I purchased my paper lanterns from the Paper Lantern Store. http://www.paperlanternstore.com/whropala.html The lantern I used was the 3.5" white round lantern.

I imagine you could do all kinds of characters this way, my friend made a Jack Skellington that came out really good. Unfortunately I don't have a picture. Happy

Anyways I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's version, please post if you can!
