Step 1
Begin by sticking one envelope flap to the back of the other envelope. Repeat this until you have a row of envelopes as long as you desire. When you have finished, fold them in a zigzag pattern, which creates the accordion style. The flap of the last envelope can be folded towards the front to create a great closure for the album.

Step 2
I like to tape scrapbook paper to the outside and inside, making the pieces slightly wider so that the end overlaps the accordion fold, which strengthens each fold.

Step 3
Now you can decorate with whatever theme you choose. This makes an awesome travel journal album. Store ticket stubs, event tickets, napkins, coasters, receipts, etc. from you trip in the envelopes. You can journal on the envelopes or add scraps of paper to write on.

Step 4
Add photos to the backs of the envelopes, right over the pockets, or inside the envelopes. You could string ribbon around the folds of the accordion, or around the entire album to keep it closed. I use the thin hair elastic hairbands from the dollar store!

Two-Envelope Journal/Album
Start the same way you did for the above album, by sticking the flap of one envelope to the back of the other. Fold this in half with the envelope pockets on the inside. The flap of the second envelope can be folded towards the front to create a nice closure for the journal.
To make the pages, you can use normal printer paper, which you can get in the color of your choice. You could also use lined notebook paper, or make your own from scrapbook paper. Using the envelopes as a template cut your paper to size. You want it to be slightly smaller than the size of the inside of the two envelopes without the flap. Six pages are usually enough and make a nice size to journal in. When you've cut the pages to size, fold them in half.
The next step is to bind the pages into the journal itself. I have stapled them in, which works well but isn’t as finished looking. You can use two sided tape to adhere the pages down the middle, or you can sew them in. Some scrapbookers have them professionally bound.
Now you can embellish your journal however you like. The album makes a nice brag book or gift album. Because it's small, it would make a great travel journal for a short trip.
