You Will Need

Step 1First you need to cut a rectangle of fabric to make your bow. Keep in mind that whatever size of rectangle you cut, your bow is going to be about 1/4 to 1/3 the size of the piece you cut. Then I always iron the piece just to make it easier. (Or you can use a curling iron! ) :)

Step 2Next you cut the little piece that goes in the center. It should be a long rectangular strip. Then iron down the edges to the inside.

Step 3This is what step 2 looks like.

Step 4Next you need to fold down the sides of the large rectangle on the longest side. You fold so that the fabric meets in the middle. I usually stitch a little knot so that the fabric does not go anywhere. You can also iron the sides down, but I usually do not do this.

Step 5Next fold in the other sides of the bow and stitch a little knot in the middle so that these sides do not go anywhere. After this, you can take long stitches to cinch together the middle of the bow. I usually wrap the thread around the bow a few times to make the middle secure.

Step 6This is what the bow looks like cinched together before you add the little outside piece

Step 7Last, you just add the little tiny piece around where you cinched the bow. Then stitch the edges of the outer piece together. This works with ANYthing! Leather, fur, any type of fabric you want. :) You can add a pin or sew this to a headband… or put them on shoes or coats!
