Let me just clear up anything you might be wondering about the items needed- the green twisty wire is optional, I just use it to strengthen the circle shape before I cover it in the embroidery thread.
Also, traditionally, dream catchers are generally wrapped in suede or leather, but I use embroidery thread and it looks fine :)
I made a necklace first then got the urge to make earrings.... the necklace I made without beading wire, and used beading wire for the earrings.
The whole thing was inspired by the dream catcher necklace that Sean Foreman, from 3OH!3, wears a lot, and a similar one worn by Jakub Andrew from HeyHiHello wears in a few of the videos on their YouTube channel. I loved them so I decided I'd make one :)

Step 1First thing is to make the base of your earrings/ necklace. Take the beading wire (or similar wire and shape it into a circle then use pliers or scissors to twist it so that its connects at the top. I used this egg timer to get the circles for my earring the same size.

Step 2This is the green garden wire I used. Its very flexible. As an alternative to step one, if you don't have beading wire, you can twist this into a circular shape and then get it into some kind of similar state to step four if you are using beading wire. (if that makes any sense?!) This was how I made the necklace.

Step 3Either way, if you are making earrings, its at this point you want to add the earring hooks. If you're making a necklace, skip this bit.

Step 4However, if you do use beading wire, you want to use the green garden wire and wrap it around the beading wire to strengthen it. (this step is optional, however I would do it.)

Step 5When you've finished that, it should look like this (dont worry that it's green!)

Step 6Then take yarn in the colour you want the frame of your dream catcher to be (I used brown) and wrap that all the way round the frame to hide the green garden wire.

Step 7This is when you start to make the webbed part of the dream catcher and its really easy. Like you can see in the picture, first tie a long piece of yarn in any colour you like to the top of the frame.
Then loosely loop it around another area of the frame (you want to keep them roughly the same distance apart all the way round, mine were about 2-3cm)and pass the string over the top to the loop you made. -
Step 8
Simply pull that quite tight -but not too tight- and you've done the first stitch. Repeat that all the way around the frame.

Step 9When it comes to the second row, make the same knots but in the middle of the string above. Repeat this as many times as you like, but make sure to leave the traditional gape in the centre of the dream catcher. Knot it to finish.

Step 10You can now either leave your mini dream catcher like this, or....

Step 11... you can stitch little beads around the centre using a needle and thread, or alternatively, threading them on the strings as you knot them.

Step 12Then its up to you whether or not to add the little tails on the dream catchers like I did on my necklace using yet more yarn in the same colour as the web, and threading on more beads and if you like some feathers (though I didn't have any.
If you are making a necklace, I made a strap by braiding a long section of yarn and knotting it onto the the top of the dream catcher, but you could use ribbon or a chain if you like.
@anemona you make a really loose loop around the frame, passing the yearnbehing the frame then throught the loose loop around the frame, then pull it taught. If you still dont get it, there are loads of site that can go into more detail about how to knot a dream catcher.
and the bracelet thing sounds like a good idea, i'm making my friend one, so i think i'll use an old bangle as the frame
