Dog Draught Excluder
This is a great, useful project for the winter nights.

It can be made in any colour of your choice.

All items are knitted with 3 3/4" needles.

I didn't add the legs but have included the pattern.

To make the head...

Cast on 7 stitches.

Knit a row.
Step 2
Purl 1, make 1 6 times. (13 stitches)

Knit row.
Step 3
Purl 1, make 1 12 times (25 stitches)

Work 3 rows stocking stitch.
Step 4
Purl 1, (make 1, purl 3) 8 times. (33 stitches)

Work 13 rows stocking stitch.
Step 5
Purl 3 (make 1, purl 5) 6 times (39 stitches)

Knit one row.
Step 6
Purl 4 (make 1, purl 5) 7 times. 46 stitches

Work 16 rows stocking stitch.
Step 7
Knit 1 (knit 2 tog,knit 3) 9 times. 37 stitches

Work 2 rows.
Step 8
Purl 2 (purl 2 tog, purl 3) 7 times. 30 stitches.

Work 2 rows.
Step 9
Knit 1 (knit 2 tog, knit 3) 5 times. Knit 2 tog. Knit 2. 24 stitches.

Work 2 rows.

Purl 2 (purl 2 tog, purl 3) 4 times purl 2. 20 stitches.

Purl 2 together to end of row. 8 stitches.

Cast off.

To make the body...

Cast on 60 stitches.

Stocking stitch for 64 cms.

Knit 5, knit 2 together to end.

Purl one row before going on to row 4*
Step 15
( knit 4 knit 2 tog) to end.
Step 16
Purl 1 row.

Decrease in this way 3 more times.

Cast off.
Step 17
To make the ears... make 2......

Cast on 15 stitches.

Knit 1 row.
Step 18
Purl 1, make 1, purl to the last 2 stitches, make 1, purl 1.

Work1 row.
Step 19
Stocking stitch until work measures 10 cms.

Cast off.
Step 20
To make the legs...

Cast on 15 stitches.
Step 21
Stocking stitch until work measures 2 1/2 inches.

Cast off.
Step 22
To make tail...

Cast on 15 stitches.

Stocking stitch until work measures 4 inches.
Step 23
Knit 1 knit 2 together 5 times.

Work 1 row

Repeat the last two rows.

Cast off.
Step 24
Sew all parts together, but leave an opening for stuffing.
Step 25
Add the nose to the front of the head.
Step 26
Add the eyes to either side of the head.

Stuff the head.
Step 27
Sew on the ears.
Step 28
Sew the head onto the long body.
Step 29
Sew on the legs.

Place in front of door to stop all draughts.
