Polymer clay Heartbeats Headphones! (Not really) Better than the real thing!!

My camera is broken, so these pics are from my phone, which is only semi functional. It only sent SOME of the pics to my email so i could put them up here. There were pics for every step but not anymore, sorry! But here's how to make a crummy but VERY inexpensive version of the cute but costly Heartbeats. $100 my butt.

Instructions

  1. Step 1 1

Mix equal parts white and black polymer clay for a while to get gray. Roll it into a ball, then on a flat surface, press the ball down so that it's circular with one flat end. Leave it flat-face down on the surface.

  2. Step 2 2

Take your knife, and cut at an angle to make a sort of 3-sided pyramid. Make 2. Here's what the bottom looks like:

  3. Step 3 3

Cut the pyramid in half. Get your headphones, and then press the sides around the headphone, and it should look like this, flat part up.
Do the same to the other pyramid too. Then, take them off and they should have little grooves in them. DON'T mess up the grooves.

  4. 4

Use the scraps from turning the ball into a pyramid for the top layer. Make into another ball, then squish flat.

  5. 5

Use the knife to cut a triangle that is smaller than the surface area of the bottom of the pyramid. Again, make 2.

  6. 6

Cut straight vertical lines on the triangles.

  7. Step 7 7

    Cut straight horizontal lines.

  8. 8

Cut lines that turn the squares in the triangle to triangles, so basically cut lines that make all the squares cut in half.

  9. 9

Bake! I don't know about your clay, but i baked my triangles for 15 minutes at 275* and the pyramids for 30 at the same temperature.

  10. Step 10 10

Let everything cool, and then with your silver nailpolish, paint everything!

  11. 11

Put a dab of hot glue in the grooves of thhe pyramids, and then attach to the headphones appropriately.

  12. 12

Hot glue the triangles to the flat parts of the pyramids.

  13. 13

Done :) I know they aren't super great, i made this up as i went along and i'm not the best sculptor haha! Enjoy though!
