Using Cyanotype by Jacquard
By using the Cyanotype Sensitizer Set by Jacquard you can make custom fabrics with endless possibilites.

I made fabrics with notions printed on them. Buttons, safety pins and sewing scissors put on top of the fabric while its exposed to UV light creates the prints like magic, well its science, but its pretty amazing :)

Follow the directions included with your set to create your own custom fabric prints!

There is enough chemistry to make 40 8"x10" prints on fabric.

    Step 3

Cut an 8 inch square from your fabric print, batting, and one other fabric. You will also need some scrap fabric to make your binding.

    Step 4

Pin your fabrics wrong sides together, with the batting sandwiched in between.

Fold your fabric in thirds, diagonally and trace the crease with chalk.

Sew the sandwich together on the diagonal lines.

Then sew on your binding. I used a 2" wide strip that was about 40" long and just barely had enough to go around.

    Step 5

Fold over one of the sides, so that the binding is touching the sewn crease on the opposite side. Then hand sew down the edge.

Fold the other side over and hand sew it down too.

Now you can add embellishments to it. I sewed a safety pin to the top corner flap so I can pin it closed and keep my scissors from falling out of the pocket.

I sewed on a shiny blue button on the flap too because it needed a little something too. :)
