Custard Slices
These are really easy to make.

You could use ready made custard & shop bought pastry.

You could also make them from scratch but I don't think there is really much point as they taste so yummy the easy way.

These look very much like our 'tompoezen' (1 tompoes, 2 tompoezen) though they have pink (on Kingsday orange) icing on top and sometimes some hardened whipped cream decoration. I don't like 'tompoezen' from the store, but perhaps they're better when you make them yourself. Happy I got some custard powder left... perhaps I'll try this.

I have never heard of tompoezen but these slices are easy to make & taste really nice. Hope you enjoy if you do decide to make them.
