Based on Crocheted Alligator Scarf by Kathy S.
Loved Kathy S's pattern. Her instructions were great.
Here's what I improvised:
Used "I" hook for the first 3 rows and last 3 rows of "alligator bumps" to give the body a little more narrowed shape at the beginning and end of the body portion.
Used only 5 treble crochets for the popcorn stitches.
Edged the project with a row of sc around the perimeter, then added a contrasting border row of sc followed by a row of slip stitches in white.
Bulked up the nostrils by weaving loose yarn ends into them.
Found very pretty jeweled buttons for alligator eyes.
Very Cute project !!! Am pairing it with a matching pirate hat (shown in photo) for a fabulous birthday gift to a gorgeous young lady who must now wear an eye patch.
