When she sees a ball of wool, Kitty can’t help herself, she goes crazy! Sometimes she gets so excited she gets all tangled up in ?the wool. If you don’t like red, you can use blue, yellow, green or purple for Kitty’s ball of wool.

  • Step 1

    Head

    Use grey yarn.
    Make a loop with the tail end of the yarn on the right, keeping the ball end on the left.
    Pull the ball end through the loop. Make one chain through the loop on the hook you have drawn through to steady the circle. Dc 6 into the circle and complete with ss into the first dc.
    1st round: 2 dc into each of 6 dc. (12 st)
    2nd round: *1 dc. 2 dc into next dc. *6 times (18st)
    3rd round: *1 dc into each of next 2 dc, 2 dc into next dc. *6 times (24 st)
    4th round: *1 dc into each of next 3 dc, 2 dc into next dc. *6 times (30 st)

    5th round: *1 dc into each of next 4 dc, 2 dc into next dc.*6 times (36 st)
    6th-9th round: 1 dc into every dc.
    10th round: *1 dc into each of next 4 dc, skip 1, 1 dc. *6 times (30 st)
    11th round: *1 dc into each of next 3 dc, skip 1, 1 dc. *6 times (24 st)
    12th round: *1 dc into each of next 2 dc, skip 1,1 dc. *6 times (18 st)
    13th round: *1 dc, skip 1, 1 dc. *6 times (12 st)
    14th round: *1 dc, skip 1. *6 times (6 st)
    Fasten off.

  • Step 2

    Body

    Start the same way as you did for the head.
    1st round: 2 dc into each of 6 dc. (12 st)
    2nd round: *1 dc. 2 dc into next dc. *6 times (18 st)
    3rd round: *1 dc into each of next 2 dc, 2 dc into next dc. *6 times (24 st)
    4th-7th round: 1 dc into every dc.
    8th round: *1 dc into each of next 4 dc, skip 1. 1 dc. *4 times (20 st)
    9th-16th round: 1 dc into every dc.
    17th round: *1 dc into each of next 2 dc, skip 1, 1 dc. *5 times (15 st)
    18th-19th round: 1 dc into every dc.
    20th round: *1 dc, skip 1, 1 dc. *5 times (10 st)
    21st round: *1 dc, skip 1. *5 times (5 st)
    Fasten off.

  • Step 3

    Legs and Arms x4

    Start with 5 dc around the loop like you did for the head and the body.
    1st round: 2 dc into every dc. (10 st)
    2nd-15th round: 1 dc into every dc.
    16th round: *skip 1, 1 dc. *5 times (5 st)
    Fasten off.

  • Step 4

    Tail

    Start the same way as usual but 4 dc around the loop to start.
    1st round: 2 dc into every dc (8 st)
    2nd round: 1 dc into every dc until it gets long enough for a tail.
    3rd round: *skip 1, 1 dc. *4 times
    Fasten off.

  • Step 5

    Ears x2?
    Start with 3 dc into the circle as you did for the head.
    1st round: 2 dc into each of 3 dc. (6 st)
    2nd round: *1 dc. 2 dc into next dc. *3 times (9 st)
    3rd round:* 1 dc into each of next 2 dc, 2 dc into next dc. *3 times (12 st)
    4th-5th round: 1 dc into every dc.
    Fasten off.

  • Step 6

    Making Up
    Sew all parts together as shown in the photograph.
    Attach the eyes.
    Embroider the nose and mouth with yellow ?embroidery thread, and the toes with black ?embroidery thread.
