A simple doll made out of calico
 <  Image 1 of 3  >

I made this doll a while ago along with two other and is meant to resemble my best friend Shivi though it's not anymore it was originally a voo-doo doll. I got the inspiration for the pattern from watching the movie Mulan with my little sister where there is a similar doll. I haven't quite got around to making any clothes for her. I hand sewed the hair and body and the cheeks are colored with eyeshadow and then sprayed with hairspray.

no I haven't got around to making clothes, though I might soon and calico is a type or material though I'm not sure how to explain it, though it is good for making bags and things that will be under a lot of wear and tear.

I bought a couple of large squares at a second hand store a few years back for about $2 but I've seen some for sale in a couple of craft stores that stock fabric.
