• 

  Step 1

  You can start with a quick sketch, or dive right in to painting! Use a wet brush to paint clean water in oval shapes on to your watercolor paper. Wait until the water has soaked in a little and then dab on green paint and watch it blend over the paper.

  Step 2

  Once your base layer is dry, add some darker green areas on top, making sure to define the different ovals, so they stand out on top of each other.

• 

  Step 3

  When your second layer is dry, use a thin brush to paint lines and spikes on your cactus, don't make them too uniform, random is key!

• 

  Step 4

  When the dark green details are dry, you can add some cute little flowers on the top, with red and yellows.
