A felt case for my snappy new camera!

I got Boondock Saints(my favorite movie), and a really cool touch screen camera, for Christmas. I decided to make a hip case to keep the screen clean/safe from scratches.

Project Cost
Almost Nothing

  1. 1

Cut a rectangle from the black felt. Measure by laying your camera/ipod/cell phone on the felt, flipping the extra felt over it. Leave about a half inch on either side for stretch, and make an extra triangular cut on one end for a flap.

  2. 2

Fold the rectangular part in half(leaving the triangle hanging over)and blanket stitch the sides. I used white embroidery floss.

  3. 3

Cut out your design(I just looked at the cross on the movie case), and lay it where you want it on the front side of your pocket. The flap will attach on the opposite side, so the triangle will stick up above your image.

  4. 4

Stitch your image in place. I used blanket stitch again, but straight stitch will work just as well.

  5. 5

Fold your flap down and decide where you need to sew your button. Sew the button in place. Cut a slit in the flap for the button to go through, roughly the length of the button.
    Optional:
A 1/4 inch or so above the button hole, cut a tiny hole for your camera strap to poke through.
