Butterfly Kisses
This is a super fun Mixed Media Canvas that uses different techniques. The butterflies look as if they are going to fly off of the page, and the sentiment in the bottom corner is perfect. I chose the word believe because it is my word for the year.

  • Step 1

Take 1 sheet of pattern paper and cut it into three 4" x 12" strips. Take the butterfly dies and cut all of the butterflies using this paper.

  • Step 2

Take the mod podge and paintbrush and adhere the butterflies onto the canvas leaving the bottom right corner open.

  • Step 3

Take your other pattern papers (4 different patterns) cut a 4" strip from each and group the butterflies together. Then send the butterflies through your die cutting machine.

  • Step 4

Match up the butterflies to the matching butterfly stamps. Take black ink and stamp the butterflies to the die cut butterflies.

  • Step 5

Use your hot glue gun, and run a bead of glue in the middle of the butterfly. Adhere the center of the butterfly to the matching butterfly that is already on the canvas.

  • Step 6

Take some crystal jewels and adhere in the center of the butterflies.

  • Step 7

Now you are going to want to make the butterflies 3-D by taking the wings of the butterflies and folding them up and in. This gives the butterflies a nice 3-D look.

  • Step 8

Add your phrase to the bottom right side of the canvas. I chose Believe.
