This came out adorable but ended up being a pain in the ass because within two days there was dust on it and it was almost impossible to clean. I ended up giving it to my cat, she thoroughly enjoyed it though ^.^
I'm MAKING ONE OF THESE RIGHT NOW.hahaha <3 Thanks for filling my afternoon with such a wonderful project!!! I LOVE THIS. I've been looking to buy one. and this is just so damn clever KUDOS!
I really love this project. I made a bunch of jewelry for my best friend and was looking for a creative way of giving it to her and this would be perfect. love the jabberwocky comment at the end!!
WOW! Guys, This is the featured project! I like, NEVER thought that would happen. Thanks so much to everyone who has favorited this!!
I too have been seeing jewelry trees everywhere. There are a bunch at Urban Outfitters. But all are so expensive. While this one is a little more flimsy, it works perfectly and is oh so cheap to make.
I too used this to hang my jewelry on at a sidewalk sale I had a booth at. I looked at my set up and was like, This needs trees. XD
The day before, I was like, I really should make a smile out of Shrinky Dinks, punch a hole in it and tie it to the tree, but I just never got around to it. So if you want a Chesire cat, that might be a good idea!
As for templates, I really wouldn't know how to make them and the trees I have are bigger then normal printer paper. You are welcome to copy the design off my pictures, but all I can tell you is to make a trunk, two sweeping lines, and then add hooks and connect! Trees can be knarled looking, they are trees.
Love the jaberwokky comment lol. I needed this tutorial about a year ago! Couldn't find a decent jewellery tree anywhere and finally bought one but its too small thakns for the tute
All you need is a cheshire cat sitting atop your tree. I am going to do a bigger version for my kindergarten class to have kids hang art projects on...thanks!
This is really cute
I'll try again tomorrow
