When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
I first got into cooking when I went vegan in college. There wasn't a ton of food options in Tennessee, so I learned to make that I wanted. The first recipe I tried was to veganize Neiman Marcus cookies. It was a total failure!
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
My kitchen is pretty spacious & very neatly organized. I get everything read before I start a recipe and keep up with the dishes as I go.
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
Just keep trying! It all comes with a little practice.
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
Tina Fey & Amy Poehler. I'm not much of a cook, so I would probably stick to dessert. There would be an abundance of fresh fruit tarts!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I spend a lot of my free time doing even more baking, learning about photography, and working out. This summer I am hoping to teach myself how to make terrariums.
Which cooking blogs do you love to read?
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Thanks Cat for letting me join the ranks! I'm always happy to meet new folks. If anyone else is interested in chatting about baking, veganism, punk, or feminism let me know!
