whats with the snarky comments?

I completely and utterly agree with the 'If you don't have something nice to say - just don't say it at all' (Unless the person has specifically asked for some harsh critiquing - but even then, the comments are generally not helpful just plain rude).

And I do agree that you can't be accused of copying unless your item is identical (ie. Say I posted up a picture of a hand drawn design and then suddenly that design appears on someone else's something).
But generally, there are no 'new' ideas themselves, just variations on. People are bound to end up doing the same variation without intending to.

@Ruby. I did misunderstand what u were saying at first. Thanks for explaining your p.o.v. (*reaches in to the hole gives a hand up*)sorry for coming at u like an unhinged spider monkey.
My whole purpose for starting the thread has been fulfilled. I just wanted to check my etiquette and make sure i wasnt messing up anyones peidcure. I think i got so upset because I AM very careful to post versions even if its something I already knew how to do or have done before. I'm all about giving credit where credit is due, and would NEVER steal ANYONES creative thunder.

Whenever a site begins becoming more "popular", the percentage of jerks who only want to be rude increases. It seems a sad fact to me that 75% of the internet is full of people with no manners nor social graces. But, I try to not let it get to me. The ones leaving rude comments are usually ones with no projects of their own to share ;)

I always post versions if it is something that I never would have thought of on my own, or if I use a tutorial. Even though my "destroyer" skirt looks *very* different from the original project, I credited it because I never would have thought to try to create a skirt in that style without seeing her creation.
