What are you doing for St. Valentine's Day?

I'm trying to figure out what to do for my fiance for St. Valentine's Day, but I'm definitely going to be sending cute care packages to my best friends.

My "sister" who started as a pen pal for me about 10 years ago is going to get a box of assorted handmade candies, and some cute themed items.

My best friend in Canada is going to get a box of candies and a really sweet handmade card.

A few of my other friends all over the place will get similar things.

So... What are you doing for St. Valentine's Day?

Thinking of making chocolates~~~sweet smelling soaps ..hmmmmm~!!
You could make some chocolates that kinda looks like him??!! Like for example....his main features or what describes him?? ( CARAMEL FILLED CHOCOLATES ARE THE BEST!!)
So uh I'm gonna go chocolate hunting !!! It's fun!! It is all hidden by someone and you need to go round and round finding clues!!haha can't wait!
AND FOR YOUR FIANCÉ YOU COULD MAKE A LIKE HUGE CHOCOLATE (square) AND WRITE STUFFS ON IT LIKE A VALENTINES DAY CARD!!

I usually make him chocolate cakes with chocolate frosting and decorate it with chocolate truffles, lol. I usually only make them for his birthday but a Valentine's heart cake would be pretty awesome. That way I could decorate it with a silly message. I'm trying to think of a good dinner though too so we don't have to go out to eat like we usually do. Maybe I'll just make Bunjal or Tandoori chicken, lol.

Soaps are a good idea, too. I've been meaning to make lavender-orange soap for a long time. Now I'll just have to find heart-shaped molds.

I'll probably go out with my boyfriend some place Happy Not decided on where yet though, we might go out to dinner or something. But I don't know what I am going to get him or make him D: I'd like to make him something that will last forever that he can keep. Any ideas?

Oh and Monika, if you're making him dinner, you should stick to a theme like Mexican or Indian, or do something themed around Valentine's day with hearts, red food etc. I'm sure he'd like that Happy

Yeah, I'm thinking the Bunjal chicken is a good idea, then I can make some chutney and dahl and cook up some naan or roti.

As for something that lasts for ever--how about a little trinket made from resin? Or maybe just a little stone curio. My fiance keeps a green stone egg in his pocket everywhere he goes. Tungsten carbide jewelry lasts forever, too.

Monika@ hmm...bunjal is a good idea .....you can make him naan with like fried potatoes mixed with chicken masala (powder) some spicy tomato chutney...if you're making naan it's butter ! Butter naan

Siomha@yeah monika is right buy one of those rings or these kind of stones ( I couldn't get any pic of the stones...)

Oh, pictures can also last forever, maybe go to one of those little photo booths that take a strip of pictures? My fiance and I did that one of the first years we were dating... now that I say that, I want to do something like that this year, lol.

One gift my fiance really liked was a shirt that I stenciled for him--he still wears it and I made it about 3 years ago. Little band pins and stuff like that make cute little gifts, too.

I'm going to sit in my room, blaring A.F.I., and be happy that I'm single.

I am probably going to make my boyfriend heart shaped homemade reeses candies. Since I made him some cupcake sized ones for xmas, I'm most likely going to be stuck making those for him whenever he thinks he can convince me too! A couple of years ago I just bought him almost 1 of every kind of reeses candy. He also really wants bacon roses.... I just don't want to have to deal with the stems, but I don't really think they look that good without them. Plus, I would like to keep the fake roses for myself.

My hubby and I will probably go to dinner and a movie, something like that. It seems like the basic date night idea, but since we don't actually ever go on dates a lot it's a special night lol. Hopefully he'll buy me some flowers, I love fresh flowers especially wild flower mixes!

I also always make my dad a really intricate pop up type card. I did it once and he looooooved it, so I'd just been doing it ever year now, but it is getting hard to top the last years card. Any ideas for pop up cards?

Besides that I send/drop off flowers to my mom and sister too.

Pop up?? I don't know anything abou that Pam but you could cut a red paper heart, fold a long piece of paper and glue it together on the card so when someone opens it the heart pops out.

If you're dad's a gamer geek at all, one of my friends found a card that says "It's dangerous to go alone" on the outside, and "take this" on the inside with a pop-up 8bit heart.

I think I'm going to make some for all my friends this year if I can find the design.

I'm going to probably drag my boyfriend to the band concert at my old high school (if I can convince him) and then just keep it simple and go to a movie and dinner with him because I'll probably be broke by then from all my crafting and buying my books and what not for college.

I'm going to make my boyfriend his own "box of chocolates" with chocolate covered strawberries, strawberries stuffed with cheesecake and dipped in chocolate, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies, and red velvet cheesecake brownies.

I was also thinking of making his brother (who is recently divorced) a box of choclates too, except his will be full of little bottles of alchol.
