Your Blogs-what do you write about and how often?

I think that it is important to be yourself...a lot of swearing may put some readers off, but you would have to ask yourself do you want to please everybody? I don't think that you swear too much in your blog. I do not swear a lot when I speak, however sometimes a word is used because it fits. Although too much f-ing and it loses meaning.
I love to browse the internet and look at blogs a lot, as a time waster when I should be doing other things. There are an awful lot of craft blogs out there that tell me " Hi, my name is _ and I have two beautiful kids and I have a beautiful house and I am married to my best friend" etc etc These are the ones that I don't end up following as they are not interesting to me. When I have compiled a list of my favourites I will post it on here

@ nicpea. That would be great! I tried some blog hoping on blogger by hitting the random button, for a good two the three hours, they were all so terrible, I don't see why its necessary to have an entire blog on how much jesus seems to love you.

@ pinkweeds. I feel that I already have a large enough vocabulary as it is, I know when to swear and when not to swear. I have a 4 yr old and an angry mother I can watch my mouth when I need to, I just have this feeling like if I'm going to blog about the things I do and enjoy doing that I should really be honest with myself. Honestly my vocab comes out more when I'm depressed, if I need to describe something that I'm feeling I have to come up with more words than just one big long f-bomb like I most feel like. I just think that at least to me my swears are no reflection as to my IQ or lack there of. (my spelling is another story all together though) I seem to run into an issue where when I speak like I think, when my words span outside the normal lexicon, that less people understand me anyway, I may live in the ghetto but that's no excuse as to why they don't understand the phrase "inappropriate euphemism"

I started my blog in January, finding it easier to maintain than a website... More fun too actually! As for what I blog about- it depends what tickles my fancy to be honest which is what my blog's all about I guess. There's some craft how tos up there, layout designs, photo-a-day section, everyday babbling, painting folio...

I agree that blogging can be great therapy- first and foremost, do it for yourself

I'm considering making a crochet blog, but I think I need to get better first, maybe start making some patterns so that I have something to entice readers.

Thankyou so much Lindeh. When you live in a place like my home town, your never stuck for inspiration. But then I get confused as to whether its a craft blog or social commentary/opinions...maybe a bit of both is totally do-able

Hey all I'm loving this thread. I recently started my own blog, unfortunately with a full time job, 2 little kittens and a partner to look after I've been struggling to find time, so only getting to only update about once every 2weeks. I'm keeping the categories down to DIY fashion, home deco, beauty, jewellery and cooking, but absolutely everything self made.

I'm planning on doing some updating this weekend though. I've got a few tutorials to put on: A lace mini skirt, a couple of customised t-shirts and a jewellery tutorial. It's annoying as I really enjoy doing it, and I always take pics as I'm going along, it's just finding the time to do it really.

I'm also trying to put a list of favorite blogs on my site, and I have found a few on here to add but I am adding them bit by bit, so will be contacting people I've added as I add them to let them know.

The blog is more as a repertoire for me, kind of like souvenirs of what I've made. And I want to keep my favorite links as sites I would like to visit everyday so no one should feel left out if I don't add them - it's just that they have a different style for example.
